Girlfriend suffers from depression.
I made a post yesterday asking for advice if my GF is withdrawing. I talked to her and she said she hasn't been this sad in years and there's no reason behind her sadness. She was on 40 mg of anti-depressants, totally got off of them, and then switched to 20mg after suffering the horrible side effects. She said from that point on, nothing has felt right. (Hot and cold behavior, distance, etc.). We had a talk about the course of action she should take and she said she wants to get back on her 40 mg to feel normal again. She told me that she feels horrible for acting in a toxic manner towards me these past few weeks, and I thought maybe she wanted to break up. She constantly said she feels bad about everything, and I don't deserve any of this and I deserve someone better. I suggested if she'd like to cut ties because that's what I genuinely thought she was trying to get at. She said she doesn't want to lose me and that she hates the idea of losing me forever. She said she just wants to be by herself right now. I texted her this morning and told her that I understand what she's going through and I'm always going to be by her side to help battle these demons and that she's welcome to text me whenever she feels like she wants/needs to. She thanked me and then left me on read. I'm not sure what course of action to take here. I want to support her and be there for her, but I really don't know how to do that while giving her the space she requested. Any thoughts?

Hi, Iknow it is not easy but it is great that you support her, just try to be there for her when she needs you and respect her feelings without judging, do the best you can, love helps a lot and it seems you really care abou her
I wish you the best
@Akeat59 When I get depressed the things I want most from my artner is to understand that the way I act is not a personal attack even though I know it feels that way. Understand it is the depression talkng and not the real her. She should probably see her doctor about how to adjust her meds. I did the same thing, less meds, and when I felt terrible I increased the dose and it did work so I hope that would help for her.
