I have been dating an older man for about two months now, i met him after my ex broke up with me. I was severely depressed but then he came into the picture. He's very sweet and pretty handsome too, his profile said he was 17 too so i said "hey maybe i can get a new friend" and so we became friends. Then we started dating he revealed his true age he was 24 (at the time) for some reason I wasn't angry, especially with how much i'm against pedophila due to a semi-traumatic event in my life. I don't know why but i guess i fell for him and i was pretty accepting of his age. I'm still hurt by my ex and it hurts that i still kind of care for him. Only yesterday i had an emotional breakdown about my ex because I remember a promise he made and broke and my boyfriend was understanding about it, I'm thankful for the break up in a way. If it wasn't for it I wouldn't have met my boyfriend. I'm happy with him and I really like him but deep down inside i know we'll probably not work out because of the law and my parents.... it saddens me that there is a high chance of that happening if my parents find out...

Hello @neatBanana8170

It sounds like you don't want to leave your relationship with an older man. I know the relationship might seem healthy and happy, but it is not okay that an adult is dating you. There are reasons why adults cannot date children or teenagers. I know things might seem fine, but I really encourage you to see someone your own age. I promise you will be able to make a connection with someone your own age.
