I don’t know what to do anymore

I met this guy about a year ago ( we are in same group of friends and live in dormitory) . He has a girlfriend , I tried so hard to avoid him but somehow i fell for him and he has feelings for me too. After months of trying to stay away from each other, we gave up and started a thing. But he hasn’t broken up with his girlfriend yet, he says its too complicated and he needs time. I know he loves me and i love him too but I don’t want to be a secret or get hurt, problem is he is all i can think about. The centre of my life and I don’t know what to do. I’m so happy when I’m with him, but so anxious and distracted when he is away.
