I have problems being possessive
Is it wrong for me to be possessive? My girlfriend said she liked me being possessive and wanted me to give her restrictions. But after being 9 months in a relationship she started saying she doesn't want me to be possessive. Yesterday she wanted to hangout with her two guy friends alone and I told her not to go as long as another girl goes out with you. So she broke up with me. Even tho I fixed my relationship today still I feel lonely and depressed. I'm sad and hurt. She said she is shamed of me and doesn't like to call me her boyfriend . Her guy friends laughs at me being possessive and she feels ashamed about it. Is it me being wrong or is she changing ? Do I have a future with her ? The guy friends she is taking about , she only became friends with them for like a month now and she just changed after meeting them. She told me I'm not important to her . She said the only person she cares about is herself. What do you guys think about this ?

Hey there!
I have a question regarding the situation: when you two established that possessiveness is a good thing in the relationship, do you guys have the same definition of what possessiveness means to you? It could be the case that you two have a slightly different interpretation of what it actually means to you guys. Did you try clearing it up with her?
Regarding the question if you have a future with her, that is a question only you can answer. Do you see a future with her considering everything in the relationship so far?
My take on this is generally, everyone has a tendency to feel a possessiveness over something, but too much of anything is never a good thing, it can feel a little constricting. Maybe after you established a uniform definition of how the possessiveness, you guys should also agree on the boundaries within it. What's alright and not alright. Good luck!
