I'm tired of it and need to move on
I've come with this issue to a few listeners here on 7cups before, but I need to make it more... open and public. Maybe other people can help me with that. Somehow I know what's right for me but I can't put it into practice and most of the time I need to have people tell me those things. I wish I could keep a positive state on mind regarding it but I can't.
My ex boyfriend broke up with me 9 months ago and I still think about him every day. I'm still very hurt, I miss him a lot and I still love him (maybe I'm not in love with him, but I do love him). I have to deal with the urge of talking to him every single morning, of telling him unsaid things, of asking him if he would still take me back (even though I know the answer is no).
How do I make it feel less... awful? I know I can't make it simply go away but there might be a way to turn it into a background noise in my head, not the main attraction of my every day.

Hey, impartial!
I'm sorry that you are still struggling with such strong emotions for your ex. As someone who has been/is in your place, I can understand how frustrating and lonely that place can be. Do you still communicate with your ex? If so, how many times a week do you talk? Do you think communicating with your ex is positively or negatively affecting your ability to move on? It sounds like you feel very stuck, thinking about how your relationship used to be, verses how it is now. The thing is, we'll always have fond memories of an ex. Sometimes that drives us to think we were better off being with them again, than to be alone. What were the reasons why you broke up?
I did find one thing that you said that was interesting. You said, "I'm still very hurt, I miss him a lot and I still love him (maybe I'm not in love with him, but I do love him)." than you said, "I have to deal with the urge of talking to him every single morning, of telling him unsaid things, of asking him if he would still take me back (even though I know the answer is no)." Where do you think this desire comes from? Is it out of love for him or loneliness (as you said that were in love with him anymore)? Perhaps recognizing where your desire to have him take you back comes from, then you can start on the path of healing.
Hopefully I gave you a few thoughts to chew on to help move forward! Take care lovely! Xx

Hi! I just wanted to say that I'm exactly in the very same situations... 7 months after the breakup and I still think about my ex boyfriend everyday and want to talk with him all the time. I'm still 'friends' with him but of course that's not enough...
I hope someone can give a good insight here on how to move on from that...
Hugs!
