I have been with my boyfriend for 10 years. We started dating very young at the age of 14. we have a wonderful relationship in the sense of getting along and just enjoying each other’s company. He proposed to me this year and he has been getting closer to God. One day he sat me down and said that he needed to confess something to me. He confessed to cheating on me multiple times throughout our relationship. He said getting closer to God made him realize he needed to tell in order for us to heal and proceed to marriage.

I am completely heartbroken. I can’t even begin to process what I feel. I found out 2 months ago and it has been so difficult.

we have a 1 yr old son and one on the way.

I love this man but I am so conflicted. He said he is truly changing and I see him putting in effort to become a better man. He is attending church and wants us to go to counseling.

I don’t know how to proceed.

Ok, so if you love him and he wants to go to counselling perhaps try that first. See if getting some professional help and support can help repair any damage and restore faith and trust.

Has he said any reasons why he cheated and when these indiscretions were as well?

Best wishes Ab x

He said that he thinks these affairs provided him with validation and filled a void that now God is filling. He says he was insecure. He assures me it had nothing to do with our relationship because he said he felt he was happy with me which is extremely confusing to me.

yes he told me everything. They are pretty much scattered throughout our years together. The last one was about a year ago when I was a few weeks postpartum :(
