Is friendship worth it?

So, I’ve been friends with this guy for like 13 years. We’ll call him Luke. Luke was a great guy and we laughed and played together a lot. In my teen years Luke was the guy I went partying with and drank a whole lot of alcohol with. We used to tease each other and make fun of each other just for laughs, like teenagers do. He’s also the guy I play videogames with. (It’s an escape from a workday). I’m 25 now and the things that were fun about Luke now seem really childish. He still drinks, sometimes too much. He’s plays videogames and only has his eyes on videogames and playing them. Mind you he has a girlfriend that asks his attention. He also teases and makes fun. And that’s where the problem lies. He’s gotten into a habit of taking teasing to far. To the point that he recently insulted my girlfriend in a really rotten way. He uses the n-word while he’s with as milk and goes looking for your weaknesses to hit you with them. To make matters worse we’ve been a tight friendgroup of 3 people, the third guy being a good friend of Luke. We’ll call him Joe. Unfortunately Joe is completely on Luke’s side and support everything that Luke does. Too bad because Joe is actually pretty normal to talk to. Unlike Luke. Now I’m not saying I’m a saint. I too tease my friends. But, as a 25 year old man, I know when to drop the act and start speaking like adults. My struggle at this moment is that I recently left the friendgroup for what they said about my girlfriend. I left while calling them immature and childish. It’s been 3 weeks and I miss the guys. But I know I’m not apologising for things that they said or did. But yeah. I mis my friend. Help?

Hi @imaginativeWriter7770. I'm sorry you're going through these hardships, but ultimately I think u made the right call. It was good of u to stand by your girlfriend when they insulted her, and call them out on their behaviors. It's good that you're maturing, and I think u owe yourself to find better friends who possess the same kind of maturity as you. I remember having some immature/toxic friends myself, and it was very frustrating to deal with. It's important for there to be good recriprocity in any relationship, and if u feel that being in this relationship with these people brings more negativity than positivity into your life, then it's probably for the best to move on from them and meet new people who do exhibit that reciprocity and emotional maturity you seem to be looking for. It's your call though. You actually know these people and know what's best for yourself. Just trust your heart and do what you feel is right. Hope this helps!

Yeah I feel the same way. Just feels good to hear it from someone else. It sucks but it is what it is. Thanks!
