Is there hope?

Well ther is a guy with whom I text if I text first but he always texts back... I feel like I like him a lot more than he does me,,, but the thing is I just don't know if there is any hope. On one hand he doesn't care and doesn't text me for some time if I don't text him... but on the other hand he is just so sweet, like just yesterday he came on a walk with me after a long days work... it is so confusing and I just don't want to get my hopes up only to be disapponted yet again... I have a hard time coming back up time after time....
