It's Never Going To Happen

February 8th, 2017

I'm 17 in a few days now, a year till I'm an adult. I've never had anyone like me. I've had people make jokes about liking me. But nobody's ever asked me out, hinted towards it, flirted with me... There's just been nothing. I've never been on a date, had a kiss, done any of that. I never really minded, because I was never focused on getting that. But I feel like it'll never happen. And even if it does, it won't last. Who would want to continue to date someone who has no experience with dating? I'd look silly, being in college and saying I've never dated anyone or kissed anyone. If I don't figure out something soon, will it put me behind dating wise forever?

Hi everyone is unique and this is something to remember in life. Everyone grows and changes at his own pace, be kind and patient with yourself. If ever you think you are experiencing some difficulties maybe you could ask for professional help if your parents allow you. But again it might be that your timing is different and you might start dating later than other people. I wish you all the best, trust yourself, be lovingly

I understand that you're worried about not being able to keep up and not meeting the expectations of potential future partners. But honestly, I think you'd be surprised how many other people are in a similar position to yours, even in their 20ies or 30ies. And how many of them do get to start dating eventually. Lack of experience can be a challenge, but someone who's worth dating won't reject you for that.
