Lonely in a 'happy' marriage
I'm 45 and my husband is 55, we've been married for 23 happy years. It's not a perfect marriage but we work on it and we're great. Last year, due to a very stressful event, I got depressed. I've always been strong so he didn't know what to do. He turned away from me. From then on, I hid my anxiety and depression from him. Still hiding it, doing my best to put a brave face when I'm anxious or feeling down. In fairness, I think he knows when I feel down and he does his best to help me out in his own way. But I can't talk to him about it, he literally walks away, find some thing to do out of the house. In better days, we are happy...but I feel so lonely and empty...or am I just asking too much from him...maybe I just need to be stronger and my anxiety and depression will just go away...
