Lost my temper

About 2 months back I broke up with my Ex for communication issues. We broke up really amicably the first time and remained friends but truthfully I still liked him. About 2 weeks ago he reached out to me wanting to get back together and I agreed. Things fell apart really fast, in addition to this bad relationship I have some other frustrations going on and when he texted me telling me it wasn’t working out I sent him a nasty and mean text. He responded pretty flippantly and then we were done. We’re not friends anymore and I feel I’ve lost someone who meant a lot to me all because I lost my temper. Honestly I don’t think he was ever all that interested, he would say he was when we were together but he rarely ever actually made space in his life for me. Honestly this was my first relationship and I’m 21 years old, it’s hard not to think there’s something inherently wrong with a person who at 21 years old can’t keep anyone interested for very long.

hello, first off the bat i need to say that it is not you who cannot ‘keep someone interested.’ you have identified and expressed your feelings toward the problem, which is that you said out of line things to somebody int he heat of the moment. drawing a vague conclusion such as you being uninteresting overall is closed minded. this is unfortunate for you but you truly deserve to be with someone who adores you. working on your anger will help. by working on, i mean paths here, researching anger management online, even looking at symptoms and reasonings for anger problems will help. for a possible new or rekindled relationship, an app called Paired could help if you feel comfortable enough to try with someone. it improves communication in a fun non confronting way, and then allows you to chat about your answers to different questions to review your compatibility and even improve it. good luck with this, i hope whether you try with him or let space for someone new, you keep your emotional wellbeing regulated (through journal apps or on paper) and look after your physiological self just as well please. Love, -PG
