Need help preventing arguments

My boyfriend and I for the most part are great. When we argue though it gets really heated. The things we argue about are pointless. Stupid things. I do know that it starts when there is a change of tone or one of us says something starting with the word "you" but when things get heated it’s hard to not do that. I just need help on how to end an argument before it really starts. I’m tired of arguments dragging on for a long time.

I think one has to be or act as the bigger person in the situation even if it means you come out as wrong. Or when things start to get heated, both should take a step back and take a moment to themselves to think, when I get angry I tend not to think through about the situation, and end up regretting even initiating or participating in a fight in the first place.

@brightCurrent420 It seems like you love your boyfriend and you feel arguing a lot with him could hurt your relationship, How do you feel when an argument starts? What do you think about discussing this problem with him and being open about how you feel?

I can hear the frustration in what you've posted here, Current. What are you feeling when the tone of the conversation changes? Is it the sort of situation you would feel comfortable walking away from and taking space to cool off?
