Negative thought process (triggering)

Trigger warning about divorce. So...I don’t know why, but there are certain people (definitely not everyone) who I judge for getting divorced. I really don’t know why this is, and it’s probably something to do with me and my flaws. I don’t know. But I can’t seem to stop judging a couple of influencers I follow for getting divorced even though it’s none of my business. It’s not like I ever talk to them or know them. I don’t talk about this with others because I just don’t want to shame anyone. But in my mind I keep thinking, this particular person is narcissistic and maybe that’s why, like I keep catching myself making up possible reasons. But I just am wondering...does anyone else feel this way? How do you stop doing it? I do not want to judge divorced people as I know the process is so painful. I’m a very empathetic person but idk how to stop judging

You are not the only person when it comes to people being judgmental when it comes to divorces. Divorces have not been something that have been highly accepted ever. Various families, groups and organizations have pushed it to be this way. People feel a lot of shame. It is true that there are narcissistic people that do move from relationship to relationship or from marriage to marriage. But it is also true that empathic people keep getting into abusive relationships as well. Some people do not make the right choices when they meet their partners and get married. Some people pretend to be a certain way and then change. Some families push or force marriages. There are a lot of different scenarios. As you open your mind more by taking a closer look at different people situations, you will stop being judgmental. Sometimes it hard to see other people's situations clearly though because a lot of people don't open up and talk about the divorces but at the same time there may be a lot of rumors and negative things flying around.

I don’t think it’s as simple as opening the mind to different situations, but maybe I’m wrong. I don’t see every divorce as negative. It’s just certain ones, certain people. I think in the end I’ve come to the conclusion that someone else’s relationship is none of my business

Im going through a divorce but tried everything to save it and didn't want it to happen. I blame myself daily for it and feel like utter shit but in the end the other didn't want to work as a team and I couldn't carry the team by myself.

I completely understand, at least the part about doing everything by yourself and carrying all that weight. It’s like that right now in my relationship and it really sucks. I believe you did everything to save it, please don’t take offense to my post. In the end it’s one of those things where you feel alone in a relationship so might as well break up. I get that
