Let me start off by saying my husband is a wonderful husband and a fantastic father 90% of the time. But 10% of the time we have a fight, or things don't go exactly his way, and he goes over the edge and breaks things and yells. He has never hurt me and I don't think he ever would intentionally but he thinks he is justified in these temper tantrums and I am about at the end of my rope with it. You can only take so much of someone stomping around and breaking things and trying to intimidate you until you lose it. The worst part is that he thinks hes justified and does not apologise for these incidences unless I apologise first for "getting him to that point" how can I deal with this and salvage our relationship?

I understand how that you are feeling at the end of your rope with this situation. The fact that he breaks things and yells when you two have a fight or when things don't go his way is makes things difficult for you, especially since he feels justified. Him intimidating you like that until you get to the point where you lose it is unacceptable. It's hard dealing with this because he shifts that blame on you and he sounds really controlling. You see the wonderful parts in him and you wish that the relationship would get better. You would like to know what you can do to salvage the relationship. The relationship may be able to be salvaged by working things out with him, buy to work things out with him, he must take accountability and responsibility first, to change his behavior. Talking to him about your relationship goals with him and you and him implementing them may work.
