Prison Break

My ex and I dated in 2017 for a few months. Got into and broke up and I always promised to be there. I loved him. Never stopped. His name is Riley.

When we broke up, he went back home. 3 hour drive away from me. Where I actually lived half my life, where we met. He didnt talk to me much after that. Got a new girl. Played step daddy for a while. They broke up. Some time last august (2018) He came to town with his friend (my best friends brother actually. Tight knit town) he wanted to see me. I thought it was a booty call or that he was just drunk. me being the kind hearted person I was and am, I told him if they need a place to stay they can crash at my pad. I had just gotten out of a bad on and off relationship.

Riley came through with Seth. We hung out. They crashed after an hour. LAMES. The next morning they left. He called and texted me and I tried to ignore him as much as I could. I declined is calls with a "I'm busy, cant talk" or "call you later." To avoid a conversation I knew would hurt me. I missed him and I didnt need those feelings at the time. He replied to me busy message with "I still love you." Wow.. "what are you talking about Ri?" I answered. He repeated himself. "Why?" I asked. "You were the LOML. You still are. I will love you forever." And all I could think about was how bad it was gonna hurt if I told him I felt the same way still and he would just leave me. I said "haha yeah okay. Are you drunk again? Go to sleep you weirdo." And stopped replying.
