Scared of who my bf is becoming

I have been in a relationship with my bf for a little over a year now. He was an amazing man when I first met him, compassionate, ambitious, and kind to the people around him, strangers included. But over these recent months, something has changed. I thought it was only a couple of bad days at first, but overtime, he has started to say horrible things about the people around him, even friends and complete strangers. Some things he has said sound almost narcissistic. He has not directed any of this behavior towards me, and still treats me very kindly, but I don't want to give my time to someone who does not respect the people around them, even if I am treated well.

How can I approach this conversation? Should I consider leaving if it continues or give him time to work things out?

It sounds like he is going through something and he might need to take care of it, whatever that looks for him, maybe therapy, maybe a change of work, it could be anything. But maybe he hasnt realized it yet, he might feel some discomfort and act like this in consequence. I think its complex because its a process of his own that affects you and the relationship, I think the first step is talking about it, not in a discusión way but like in an offering support way, his response will give you an insight to take a decisión of your own, stay, support him, work for the relationship, or give him space and take care of you by letting go. I hope you find the right answer for you, I send you a hug :)

@sincerePlace8195 Thank you for your advice :)

He has been going to therapy throughout the entirety of our relationship, but I am going to try and talk to him to see if there's anything else I can do to offer support.

Sending a hug back your way!

@catceo7099 I would set boundaries of how you expect to treat and be treated by people, call out the behaviour, explain you don't like it, explain the consequences what could happen if he continues to treat people this way, that they what you give out comes back to you so if he continues people will be not nice back, then if he gets narsasisitic, angry or defensive towards you and carrys on take that as a massive warning sign and act accordingly, make your decisions very Wisely as you go with him. what you allow is what will continue, also only you can make the right desicions for you x ❤️✌️🧿

Maybe, there's a lot more that he is going through right now, without you having any idea of it. I think it's better to talk about this with him and ask him if there is something that has been bothering him. Don't rush out things. Give it some time and stay there for him, support him. Maybe that's all that he needs right now.
