My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over three years and just moved in together 4 months ago.We have been through a lot together and I do love him. However some days I feel as if hes not into me as I am with him. Theres days when we are best friends/lovers and other days ..... yeah. Part of me kinda wishes I waited to move in with him because I wanted to be engaged before but I changed my mind. Im not really sure if and when we will get to that stage. Our love languages are different and that puts a strain as well. Im not 100% sure if he wants the same things with me as I do with him.

@SouledOut17

Usually that sort of insecurity stems from a lack of communication. There's a lot of "maybe"s out there. Maybe he purposefully keeps his distance because he's afraid of smothering you. Maybe he's an introvert and needs some alone time to recharge. Maybe he gets stressed about things outside of your relationship.

Your love languages may be different, but that's why we have spoken languages. It might be scary at first to reveal your insecurities to him, but if you don't ask him, you're not giving him the chance to make it better. c: If he refuses to answer, don't be afraid to say the silence makes you confused/strained etc..

I believe in you! Your boyfriend is the one person in the world who you shouldn't be afraid of talking to, right? :0

@Lucider we have talked about things and it gets better then it falls off and the cycle repeats. I know I shouldnt feel insecure but I do. I know he loves me it just... idk how to explain it.

@SouledOut17 hello dear. I've had a little experience with an on/off or hot/cold man. When it first happened i worried he'd gone off me, i tried to get my head around that and move on. Shortly after he checked in again so I realised it's a thing with him, not me.

I think now some people are just like this, it runs in cycles. the problem is dealing with it from the other side. Even though I know it is just how he is, it's not easy to deal with at all.

Whether or not you can adjust your expectations and be ok with him being inconsistant is the question. Whether you should have to is another question. It may be that this is how it will always be with this man, and that nothing you do will change that.

If you can have acceptance of this, and not allow it to damage your self esteem that could be the way. But if not, therein lies the last question. Time and thought will give you the answers heart
