What should I think?

My crush that I've liked for awhile got seriously injured one day a few weeks ago. Him and I have not talked in a LONG time and with the last conversation being an argument. When I found out about his serious injury which required surgery, I decided it would be nice to send him a get well card. He was back by next week at school and all he did was stare at me. It lasted for a few days and then, all together just stopped. He didn't acknowledge me in any way accept for a few weird times where he purposely positioned himself close to me. So for the most part, he went back to his normal self after the accident and acted like I wasn't even there. I'm not saying I sent him the card just to get a reaction out of him because I genuinely felt really bad about him getting injured, but it would've been nice if him and I would've started to talk again. I need help on what to think about this. Is he wanting to say something to me but is just shy or is he just a lost cause for me???
