we've been together for a 6 months . at first i didn't want a relationship and it brought me down and feel dumb . as things went on they got worse between us . we had issues that i thought we could fix , but now they're hurting me . i get accused of cheating and constantly lying when all i do is tell him the truth . i keep wanting to make things work but he says there's no fixing it and i'm not actually trying to make things better and i'm putting in no effort . i'm stuck and i don't know what to do .

@relaxedpxin I'm proud of you for being willing to be vulnerable about your situation and seek out help. That's something that takes a lot of emotional intelligence and it's clear to see you have good intentions.

In regards to your relationship, it seems like no matter how much you try to validate or reassure your partner, he doesn't seem to process how much you care for him and comes off very paranoid. I'm sure he has good qualities that drew you to him in the first place but it seems like in order for things to work out between the two of you, there's several past pains he needs to learn to heal from rather than blaming and projecting onto you.

It's up to you what you feel is the right thing to do but I just want this to serve as a reminder that you don't have to stay in a toxic situation out of guilt. If you feel like the relationship causes you more pain than happiness, then it's okay to let go. At the end of the day, I believe that whether things work out well with your partner or not, you can be happy and you deserve to be trusted by your loved ones.

If you want to continue supporting him through learning to be more trusting then that's definitely doable as well but he needs to choose to believe in the wellbeing of the relationship in order for things to get better. It's important to recognize when accusations are valid versus when it's paranoia. Just because someone else has suffered through past pain doesn't mean you deserve them lashing out at you for it.

I wish you the best and I hope my words are of some comfort.
