Conflicted by Church Rules

I’ve always been curious how people reconcile strict religious teachings with natural desires, like sexual curiosity or exploring intimacy. As someone who’s also navigated being a sex worker, I’m fascinated how you separate sin from simple human experience. What other “forbidden” things do you think the church would frown on, and how do you feel about them?

@LanaAfterDark

As a religious person, I don't find it restrictive at all, sex and exploration are a healthy and a natural part of life, and it's down to choice, for me, these things are about respect, intimacy and boundaries and not just something to be shared with simply anyone 💕💜

@Amanda84

That’s a really healthy perspective 💜

Do you ever feel curious about things the church might label “forbidden,” or is it more about personal choice for you?

@LanaAfterDark

It's personal choice for me, I feel rather than the church being restrictive, it's putting value on something alot of people simply see as an entitlement, it's putting the intimate back in intimacy 💜💕

Given the incalculable amount of suffering going on all over the planet--particularly the suffering of innocent &/or basically good people & other organisms--I would say that if God focuses on someone's sexual tendencies & habits for His judgment over everything else that's been going on ever since nervous systems have been evolved, then His priorities are seriously off kilter.
