Could this be a miracle?
I want to share something deeply personal about my faith.
If I’m completely honest, I turned my back on it seven years ago when my best friend passed away from cancer at just 25. Since then, I carried a lot of hurt, doubt, and distance from anything spiritual.
Recently, I became a mum for the first time. My little boy means everything to me. Over time, I began noticing delays in nearly all of his milestones, especially in his communication and speech. He wouldn’t make eye contact, couldn’t vocalise, and was non verbal. Naturally, concerns about autism began to surface. I want to be clear: there is absolutely nothing shameful about autism, and I would love my son unconditionally no matter what. But as a parent, I was overwhelmed with worry and fear for his future.
I shared my concerns with my husband, and we both broke down. Despite how far I felt from faith, something in us reached for it. We prayed constantly. I prayed in the shower, throughout the day, whenever the anxiety overwhelmed me. My husband told me that before I even woke up, he had fallen to his knees and prayed.
That morning was especially difficult. Our son wasn’t responding to his name, seemed distant, and remained non verbal. Trying to distract myself from the heartache, I took him to the shops. While in a bookshop, I broke down crying because I couldn’t even get him to look at me. I called my husband and said I would come to his workplace because my anxiety, especially postpartum anxiety, felt unbearable.
On the drive there, something happened that I still struggle to fully understand. I was stuck in traffic when suddenly my son appeared to be choking, even though he hadn’t eaten anything. I panicked, pulled over immediately, and ran to him. But when I got to him, he was completely calm, perfectly fine. What stood out most in that moment was a sound he made, a kind of screech I had never heard before and cannot explain.
After making sure he was okay, I got back in the car and continued driving. Then, out of nowhere, he started repeating words. He was talking. Smiling. Engaging. It felt like a light had been switched on. The same little boy who, moments before, seemed unreachable was suddenly present, responsive, and full of life.
This all happened this morning, and I am still in shock. After everything, the doubt, the distance, the guilt, I cannot help but feel that something profound took place. I genuinely believe I may have witnessed a miracle… but could this really be true?

Well... God doesn´t want you to force us.... and when we decide to come to him, he gets near to us and yes, answer our prayers. I believe this is a miracle. Of course!
