Acceptance
Whatever you do, you do for your own self. Even those who appear to be doing it for society, are fundamentally doing it for themselves. The question that remains is do you accept it? Do you accept your selfishness and inability to do anything beyond yourself? Sometimes acceptance is all you need for peace.
@BlatantHonesty
This is such a powerful and honest perspective. I think you’ve touched on something that many people quietly wrestle with—this idea that even our most outwardly selfless actions often stem from an inner need, whether it's for meaning, connection, purpose, or peace.
It takes a lot of clarity to recognize that, and even more courage to accept it. And you're right—sometimes the tension doesn't come from the truth itself, but from resisting it. Acceptance doesn't mean apathy or selfishness; it can mean acknowledging our humanity, our limitations, and our motivations without shame.
Maybe peace really does begin with that kind of radical self-honesty. Not to excuse harm, but to soften judgment—especially toward ourselves.
Thank you for sharing something so thought-provoking.
