Not to be that guy, but Egypt was a Roman province just as Judea was; they moved elsewhere in the empire, not as alien asylum seekers or economic migrants like we see today. Additionally, Jesus’ family returned to their home country after.

I appreciate your post as well! Jesus was very vulnerable at points in his life as are many people today:

Even if that was true, it does not follow that all refugees are like Jesus.
Having said that, I agree that in general, yes...if someone is fleeing from civil war or sociopolitical collapse, we should let him/her in. At least until (s)he figures out his/her next move.
