In Ireland on the first of February, we celebrate St. Brigid's day and get St. Brigid's crosses blessed.
What do you know about St. Brigid and her Cross?
💚
Not a clue. I’m not Catholic lol
@jesusredeemedme2425
Oh, I know you are not, I was just interested in seeing if an outsider has even heard of the day 💚
Nope hehe! I know nothing about anything apparently XD
@jesusredeemedme2425
We bless the crosses and it's said that it keeps your house safe 💚
It's a big tradition and blessing here for us today.
St. Brigid is one of our most beloved saints, she needed land to build a church and legend has it, she was told she could have whatever land, her cloak would cover, and when she spread out her cloak, it covered everything 💚
@Amanda84
honestly o idea who that is or what is her cross
can you please share something about it
@scorpionpolktanktree
No worries. St. Brigid is a famous saint celebrated in Ireland, for her faith and devotion. She was looking for land to build a chapel on but had little or no money, one day the King told her, she could have as much land as her small cloak could cover, and when she put it down, it spread out to cover all the area she needed. We celebrate her feast day on the first of February, and the night we leave cloth or a scarf tied outside and legend has it that the saying herself walks by and blesses it 💚🤗
A wealth of information, I'm clueless about a lot of things but have a wonderful time celebrating :)
