The truth of existence
Maybe it's a case of figuring out how much of existence exists in the form we believe it does. I find it helpful to realize that I really can't know much about it, relative to the amount of reality there is to know.
Sanity exists in knowing and accepting that there's an unimaginably vast amount of the unknown and unknowable, all of it very real and true. Cognitive competence is only possible when realizing the limits in our ability to perceive reality, and how that perception can affect that reality as well as our response to it.
There's no possible all encompassing encapsulation of "the truth of existence," at least not that can be contained in human consciousness.
It seems like a rare gift to grasp the nature of existence within our own sphere of influence, and the learning process persists over a lifetime unless you decide you already know it all, at which point, all learning ceases.
Wrestling with the truth of existence is overwhelming unless one accepts the vast unknown/unknowable or carefully cultivates a shield of delusion and ignorance.
Another existential question is why? Why does existence exist? What's existence's purpose? I'm guessing it has to do with the manifestation of consciousness, but why does consciousness manifest in so many forms?
While some believe the truth of existence is shouting, but pitiful, I'm suspecting that in the grand scheme of things, it can be pretty dispassionate, even while manifesting in many passionate ways. It's safe to say that existence is multi-faceted. Some of those facets seem contradictory.
I've decided to assign my own purpose to existence. Therefore, I've decided that the reason existence exists, is to facilitate the sharing of LOVE. Is there any other purpose that's so worthwhile? It's one truth related to existence that can be genuinely true if acted on as if it were true.
So, there you have it, my late night philosophical ramblings. I hope they're entertaining at least.
@Spiritriver
Your words: "Therefore, I've decided that the reason existence exists, is to facilitate the sharing of LOVE. "
How wonderful "river". I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Sprit.
