Excessive mails
It can be overwhelming to you I'm sure. Some of the people reaching out to you are probably very lonely. For me, 7 Cups of Tea is someplace that I can find someone day or night to talk to. Problems don't just go away because of conversations here. Chronic pain leaves me needing to talk often. I hadn't considered that the listeners did not want to "be there" in the long run. This gives me a new understanding.
Actually they were the ones listening to me. I was the talker coming to them and they were the listener. I don't mind one message after like "hey hope everything is fine" "I'm here in the future" but more than that and weekly is a bit much.
Oh, okay now I understand.
That means they care about you, take it as a compliment. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them reaching out to you to make sure that you're alright.
I suppose I didn't think about it from that perspective. I just saw it as a lot of messages.
Some might be part of the automated message service , this allows listeners to re-connect with members by sending automatic messages every few days to check in.
The automated messages are extremely annoying. You can ask your listener to disable future automatic messages.
Oh okay. Yes like I said I really don't mind a message after we have talked but more than one or two is just a little bit much, if I haven't responded yet.
Thanks, M. I just posted a minor "complaint" about automated messages and didn't realize we could request to have them turned off. The fake caring aspect doesn't sit well with me.
