Be SMART!

Not only should we be SMART (S-pecific, M-easurable, A-ttainable, R-elevant, T-imely) when setting our goals, but also when using the internet, as in:

S

Safe: Keep safe by being careful not to give out personal information when you're chatting or posting online. Personal information includes your email address, phone number, and password.

M

Meet: Meeting someone you have only been in touch with online can be dangerous. Only do so with your parents' or carers' permission and even then only when they can be present. Remember online friends are still strangers even if you have been talking to them for a long time.

A

Accepting: Accepting emails, messages, or opening files, images or texts from people you don't know or trust can lead to problems — they may contain viruses or nasty messages!

R

Reliable: Someone online might lie about who they are and information on the internet may not be true. Always check information with other websites, books or someone who knows. If you like chatting online its best to only chat with your real-world friends and family

T

Tell: Tell a parent, carer or a trusted adult if someone, or something, makes you feel uncomfortable or worried, or if you or someone you know is being bullied online.

I don't want to be smart, i want to be stupid.

Stop taking upsetting and possibly idiotic directions S.T.U.P.I.D.

clearly I'm joking.

I approve of smart, its a good way to formualte goals and stick with them. Small steps my friends and ignore my stinky sense of humor. :P

Great post. I would add, before engaging in a relationship with a partner, take your time. I was raised to believe that males with manners and polite behaviors were to be trusted, but you need to know people in stressful situations too, so you can evaluate the person.s anger control. Sadly, in Latin America, there is a lot of cases of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, males that are really prince charming but they turn into jealous dangerous individuals with time, when they think that the female is not under their control. Healthy relationships are hard work, that comes after your both faced each other.s dark side and triumph over those difficult times.
