A question of perception
I am new here, and this might not be the best place to put this thread, but I have a question for you guys. (both listeners and talkers)
Let's start with story time:
Once upon a time there was a man whobough a house near a lake in France. But he could not sleep because all the frogs in the pondmade too much noise. As he lay in bed, he though of the hundreds of frogs that were keeping him up, and he had an idea. He would kill all the frogs, and sell the legs to the local restaurant. He went to a restaurant and told the manager he would sell him one hundred frog legs. The next day the man brought only two frog legs to the restaurant. When the manager asked where the other legs were the man said, "there was only one frog in my pond". The moral of the story is, Problems always seem bigger late at night.
I can really relate to this story.Sometimes, (like late at night, or when I'm distressed), things seem really bad. But other times, (like when I'm happy or distracted), things seem not bad at all. This is confusing. My bar tender said that he only tries to understand his problems when he feels balanced. But when I'm feeling good I often ignore my problems.
What do you guys think?
I can relate to that, i don'tthink about my problems when i feel great, its only when they are blocking my growth that i pay attention to them; i try to take care of them when they bother me the most because i know that taking care of them in the worst moment can make everything better. (Now it sounds like i send assassins to take of my problems) :P
But constantly ignoring your problems is like bills .. they'll just keep piling up and soon you'll have the bill collectors calling everyday and your credit will plummet. I used to cover my problems by drinking, partying, and drugs .. It showed no use. Number one lesson I learned after all that crap? There is no such thing as "friends". When I was too broke to go get high or party, do you think my "friends" were around? No. I lived off Ramen noodles for almost a month! No matter what your issues are, you have to take care of them or it will destroy you.
