Confirmation email?

Hi, I had an email from 7 cups when I joined but nothing that indicates confirming my email address. I can't change my display picture although I had a message saying I should be able to now; and the only thing I can find as to why that might be happening relates to not having confirmed. My email only has a button saying chat now though which isn't taking me anywhere.
