How do I tell if I'm banned or being ignored?
I just want to know? I'm constantly getting "banned" for the most minor of things but when I'm not banned I get ignored. How do I tell the difference? Because from what I've encountered it's a lottery of if you're banned or not.
Hi Tortoise,
What do you mean "if I'm getting banned or ignored"? There are two actions than a listener can take with a memberchat:
-> Block: Being blockedby a listenerkeeps you from contacting the listener. A message will show up notifyingthat the conversation is not accessible. Theycan block you if you are being rude/disrespectful.
-> Ban: Being banned means you're not allowed to access your account or even the webpage. They can ban you if you are being highly inappropriate.
If the listeneris just ignoring you, that's another topic. However,if you feel that the listener(s) attitude is out of place, you can always [edit by moderator: leave the listenera review stating this, or report the listener using your own red block button].
Feel free to re-write your issue if my replydoesn't response your question :)
OK thanks it;s just I get ignored in all the chatrooms on this site. I get no message what so ever and I'm starting to wonder why I even came here because I've felt worse since joining
If I will be blockby a listener, that means I can't even open our old conversation?
Hey @Tortoise, it's as Erinik said, if you've been blocked you'll see an error message when you attempt to chat, and the conversation will disappear from your conversation list. If you werebanned, you wouldn't be able to access your account. So, I'm optimistic that perhaps listeners haven't had a chance to respond to you properly yet, or they couldn't accept or continue chatting with you at this time. I hope you'll try requesting another listener, who is online, if you need support right now!
Regarding being ignored (and I'm sad you feel that way),that's situational? I'd give listeners at least three days to respond to messages sent while they're offline, because who knows what they've got on their plates in life. Hopefully they'll come back and have timeto respond or schedule a live chat with you.If a listener's status is orange, or busy, they may already be occupied with chats and cannot engage you presently.
If a listener'sstatus is green or online, but they never respond, they may actually be busy or away and not know to switch themselves to busy or offline, and this will count as a missed personal request for them if you haven't spoken with them before ? no one feels good about that!Or there could be a technical glitch of some kind. I would say that, in those situations, we really do not mean to ignore anyone, but may not be able to give you the level of attention necessary at the time.
Also, some listeners simply do not engage in ongoing support, but rather one-time support, or one live chat onlyand perhaps a single follow-up (if appropriate)to check your progress? that's something you may want to discuss during your first live chat if you'd like to continue speaking with them, to determine if and how often they may be available for you.
Are you talking about listeners who begin to engage you in a live chat (where the listener's set to green or orange and responding in real-time), but then suddenly stop responding? Because they should inform you if they need to leave or feel they can't continue the livechat for whatever reason, so you have the opportunity to move on to another listener.I apologize if they haven't informed you when they need to end a live chat. Thank you for your patience!
