How interesting does one's life have to be in order for people to care?

This question is very subjective so don't be afraid to throw some opinion in there

Please don't say things like "I am interested in everyone because they have value as a human being" , as when you drive past a car-crash on the high-way, the crash and impact on the people in the crash does not bother you emotionally at all.

In what ways, and how can a random person you haven't met before impact you so much in the matter of lets say an hour or a day or 10 minutes, that you actually become attached to the person emotionally. Does the person need to be interesting? Does the person need to feel the same way as you do? Does the person have to carry himself in a certain manner that you start to ACTUALLY care?

For me uhm, I have to say that I like the personality more than looks. Looks actually don't matter that much to me because tbh I'm not some pretty girl that people like, mostly I get judged by the way I look.

It's important to me that the person is funny. And that I can talk to the person about my random thoughts and things I worry about and then in the next moment we'd talk about how planets were created or laugh about some stupid thing we did 5 or 10 years ago.

The last person I fell in love with... I fell for him because of his lame jokes, the fact that I could talk to him about anything and he didn't judge me or the way he made me feel when I was with him. At first I didn't even like his looks but when I fell in love with his personality, everything about him became beautiful. It's a shame he became such an asshole at the end.

Not all people are into looks. I didn't believe that until it happened to me. Not all people judge. But it is hard to find people like that. Just don't give up, when the time is right you'll meet someone like that.

Please couldn't become emotionally attached to someone in an hour or a day. Someone might make an impact on me, I may be keen to see them again, but I wouldn't be unduly bothered if I didn't.

I feel like I'm being under attack here for saying what I think.

Just because you don't agree with me it doesn't mean that I'm wrong. We're different people. It takes minutes for some people to be attached to someone and for others it takes months... I'm one of the people that gets attached easily.

You think I'm attacking you?! The topic asked for opinions. I gave mine. Obviously others will differ, that's what makes the world go around. I've no need or wish to attack anyone, and I'm sorry if you saw it that way.

Interesting topic here :)

I think for everyone it' different timing, but I believe there could be a difference with being attracted/ first impression and emotionally attached.

Attraction/ first impression could very well be what your "ideal" type or person you have created in your mind is like, if it's concerning their looks/what they do/where they are from etc mostly things I would say are from the surface.

Being emotionally attached I believe has to do with the emotional side to you and the other. Being vulnerable and open, able to share who you are and not feel judged. relating, and communicating in a deeper level. Feeling safe and secure.

Then there's developing a crush or a liking towards someone.

I think for everyone it's different timing, other's might take a while to actually realize if it's more or not. All I mean to say is that some people can be attached in an hour, but other's it could more.

This is my opinion on it anyway xD

I would love to wake up in a world where everyone cared and worried about each other, no matter what you looked like or who you were. To have someone that you never knew make sure you were okay and mean it.

But in this world it doesn't work like that as we all know. As @SapphireRose70510 said no one really seems to care unless you are pretty or dying. People care when its too late.

Although take a look around you now, you are surround by complete strangers who really do care. Why? Cause we are different, we are different to the rest of the world. We truly do care and want to help!

Show the world you care, step out, don't be afraid!!

I don't think any of us here don't think, at least on some level, "everybody has human value and that's why I'm here." Because we too, want to be valued all. And because we understand what it is to not be valued.

As for making bonds, maybe at first you don't care or not enough. But as each person's story unfolds, their emotions get tangled into yours and you will start to care whether or not you want to, intended to or cared to. Because we put ourselves out there, and if we try to understand, we will reach understanding. And to that we need to at least somewhat, try to become the other person. Live their thoughts like a diary, take their ways to expression like a bin, soothe their emotions like a nap or movable blanket.

You cannot think without more solid premises, you cannot allow venting if you do not have the capacity to be patient, kind. You cannot soothe or console, either with distraction, encouragement and or soft words, without understanding and coming to develop interest in the very individual you "practise" your nursing ways on. You cannot possibly know what to do for a person without intending to and knowing what helps for them. People are unique souls and as we all know with failed friendships, relationships, embarassing moments or circumstances- What works for one does not necessary work for another.

My two cents. Yes I am procrastinating. I had to address this though. People do not need to be interesting because they will always turn out to be. This thread is like, implying we gotta be frogs in the same quagmire and or at least, instantly fascinating to be cared about. It is an entire lifetime and every one has its highlights and deeper lows. Nor do you need to care completely at first to care completely sooner or later afterwards. Also, I care about car crashes. I don't doubt you and others do too. You brought it up here now for one thing. Given how common it is, yet it is still stated as something "to care/not care about". If there's true noncaring, we could bring up no amount of odd diseases nobody has ever heard the name of. Though that would be ignorance and nothing anybody can help thus something diffferent altogether.

Anyway, car crashes. We all care. The stupidity that landed fools in it. The poor souls that got caught into it. And the fate or whatever it was that decreed the moment. The ones I see (thankfully never too clearly), makes my heart drop. It is forgotten yes and sadly, all too quickly indeed. Because it's too common. But lives were lost and or people were harmed and we are not unfeeling creatures. Tragedy is tragedy. If we recognise self harm and blood on ourselves to be a sign of fatality, hurt, suffering- then we recognise blood or the motions that bring about it, as fatality, hurt, suffering on other people. In the same example, unless one happens to have a death wish or is thus stupid, nobody TRIES to have a car crash. Another man's life taken is never a small thing. We will recoil from tragedy not because we care about the individuals but because we know it is tragedy and we care about humankind. We are not ignorant therefore we care. We will express in turn where our own mind tells us too. We listen, we relay back. We react, we continue sessioning therefore we care. And or will care. We could just drop yunno. If effort remains to continue session, that itself is care. Even if it is nothing but dunno, politeness still.

Remember robot listeners? They're probably only going through the motions and probably do not intend any harm. "Probably" is what it is though and it is indeed what the listenee feels in the end that really counts. What if it is only a feeling? The listener is truely even loving their listenee but they, the one being listened too are thinking otherwise? We will likely, more instantly, attach ourselves to someone who is more closer in mind than us. Circumstance etc. We will likely, empathise and be able to express empathy (and "interest") more clearly in these circumstances. However, more than "everybody has value" it's more that "everybody is only human" and as humans, we will all eventually relate. Time makes for affection, fondness, empathy. We start off polite, doo-gooder feels, sympthy, etc. We end with interest, understanding and empathy. And perhaps too, more the feeling we're not alone on this world.

I realise others have maybe covered what I said. This really just started off as a rapid two paragraph rant in which I frustratedly ignore the calls to dinner. It ended as much more.. Hopefully nobody takes any offense. I have voiced any I did and as always, retorts and continued debate are welcome. Just forgive the late replies, I am procrastinating afterall. May all be well and find all the "right" people.
