Messages are extremely delayed and do not give me a notification when I receive them?
I'm new to 7Cups, and I already love being a listener, but my chat messages do not give me a notification when I receive messages. I just had a chat where the talker's message did not come through for 19 minutes, and when I finally saw them, the talker had already gone offline. I hate giving the impression that I'm not listening or that I don't care simply because I don't know I have a new message.

New message notifications are in the green bar at the bottom of the screen, same as the chat request notifications. Does yours not say when you have a new message?
I will receive notifications occasionally- last night the notifications were working fine, though a few times I did not receive notifications and I saw the messages once I refreshed the page. Just a few seconds ago I received a notification from a message I got 23 minutes ago. Not sure how to fix the issue.
The site is experiencing some lag issues right now, and those in charge are actively working on fixing it. In the meantime, some fixes that have helped others are refreshing the page and opening all active chats in a different browser tab.
I've not heard others complain that they're not getting message notifications, however, so I don't know if that's part of the same issue. You can also try using a different browser and clearing your cache to see if that helps.
I also notice this. There seems to be some kind of delay with messages now. Sometimes i'll see the new message on the side bar but it wont show up on the actual chat and it can be frustrating that it's so slow. Even a guest i was chatting with brought this up, saying they could see that i posted a new message in the side bar, but it wasn't coming up in the chat :\
Well, in the end of that chat it felt like i had to give up. The conversation had so much lag and i got tired of having to refresh the page every 5minutes. And then there were awkward moments where the member thought i went offline, then i thought they went offline and i had to keep apologising numerous times. :( I no longer feel like i'm doing a good job during chats and i've lost a lot of the enthusiasm i had to come on here.
This was my problem last night! I could see new messages in the sidebar but would not give me any kind of sound/ding when the message appeared. Luckily I had another tab open and there was a "new message" notification on the top of the tab. Makes it quite hard to keep conversations going.

I have also been experiencing this. It makes listening quite difficult.
I also experienced this tonight, with pretty much every chat that I had and it really made it difficult to have productive sessions with members. We're all being patient but I think people are feeling like their safe place to come vent is no longer safe. One member tonight actually told me she no longer felt safe on the site.

Emily, I'm glad you posted about this as I'm having the same problem and was starting to think it was just a problem on my end. I have already lost 3 guests this morning due to this problem and it's very upsetting.
I use the 7cups app and i have it set to notify me when i receive a message immediately. But its not notifying me at all
