Online counselors?
Hello everyone in this lovely community. I'm relatively new here and I'm still figuring things out, so forgive my ignorance. I think I read somewhere in the site that here are provided free counselors or therapists for online chat. Is this true? And how is this done? I cannot afford a counselor and I need to.

Hi @chrisliv83 ? as you can see,most of us are not professionals, but by searching browse listeners for some relevant phrases, like "trained counselor" or "practicing therapist" you can find some listeners who identify as professionals or professionals in training. I hope this helps!
Nice, thanks for your suggestion Olivia! Basically, I mean that I don't want just to vent to a listener. I want to get advice after research on my matter. I hope what you suggested help me. Thanks!
@chrisliv83I see. Because this is an active listening site, you won't be able to receive advice here. Even a professional counselor or therapist would be acting as alistener, and the best any listener can do for you on 7 Cups, beyond venting, is to help you brainstorm options aroundthe matter you're concerned with, to help you discover what you would like to do about it.
Done well, I believe this process ofguided explorationcan be better than receiving advice that might not work for you, but I understand why you would want professional insighton a matter. I hope you find the support and direction you need soon.
