What was it like to get your brace fitted?
I had mine in since yesterday and I didn't feel anything at all. It's for the bottom row of teeth because I had a pair of baby ones pulled out. There was no adult teeth to replace them so now Im wearing a brace to pull them closer and together to cover the gaps. Will it be more painful compared to just straightening them out?

I personally haven't had braces fitted, but my eldest child has for the best part of 2 years, and for pretty much the same reasons you have, he had a tooth removed, then the braces were fitted to close the gap. I don't recall him being in any pain whatsoever, however, each time his braces were tightened, he said his jaw felt tight, uncomfortable for short time but never painful.
One thing I will say, after your treatment, you are going to have the most beautiful celebrity smile there is! It will all be worth it, I promise....... Keep smiling dear!
