Trying to think better of self
Is there a way or trick to have a better image of yourself in your own head? Just curious cause most days I don’t think good thoughts of myself or my appearance. Or I don’t think I’m good enough for someone. I think I did this post right, this is my first time doing this or expressing myself.
A. May be reflecting on these questions might help:
1. What precisely your thoughts about self tell you? When? Where? How often? How does it make you feel? How do you react to it?
2. Imagine having these thoughts for the next 5 years, where do you see yourself?
3. What makes you believe that these thoughts are true? What evidences there are that tell you these might not be true? Is there any alternative way to interpret this? What do you want to do about it?
B. If you find yourself in constant, rapid, and intense cycle of these thoughts, you might want to try mindfulness to disengage from these thoughts.
C. Sometimes, when we put these thoughts onto observation, we might feel like cheating ourselves by not entertaining the thought. In these instances, you might want to remind yourself that thoughts are THOUGHTS, they may be 0% true, or 100% true, or somewhere in the middle.
D. You might want to identify and work on your personal values and aspirations, and ensure that your days are aligned with them. And when you do them, reward yourself with things that you like.
