Self-Harm Recovery Daily Check-In: Thursday, June 25th, 2020
Heya amazing people, its me again :p I wish you all a lovely Thursday!

Today I will only do a brief reminder on self-care. Self-care is incredibly important, especially when being on the path to recovery as it's important to take good care of ourselves so we can replenish our energy and keep up the fight! Self-care is also incredibly important in overwhelming situations, when being stressed, tired, involved in many projects or not... To sum it up: self-care is important, always, whether it's taking care of your body, or your mind, or both, it's needed and it's never selfish or lazy. So let's all take good care of our own selves!
1) How are you doing?
2) What is the high/low of your day?
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment?
4) What does your ideal day looks like? (where are you, who is with you, what are you doing and so on!)
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
Feel free to share anything else in your mind! Ill be looking forward hearing from you all!
Take good care of your amazing selves, stay safe <3

1) How are you doing?
Recovering from some food poisoning so called out of work. Plus, anxiety about the stuff going on back home and in my country (and world). But overall pretty good. I have some exciting things with friends planned. And life is starting to semi-return to normal. Just 🤢 still
2) What is the high/low of your day?
Doing yesterday since today just started here.
High- definitely swimming in the river with friends yesterday. Also, good figure skating jumps off-ice. Low- either hearing the protests and police flash bands and helicopters last night. Or my night if 🤮 sorry. TMI
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment?
My friends/community. My mentor. My job. The horses. My apartment. My city. My cat. The way my body is getting stronger (even if it's still fat). The prospect of returning to the ice in 3-4 weeks.
4) What does your ideal day looks like? (where are you, who is with you, what are you doing and so on!)
dream day? Time with the horses and on the ice. Time outdoors hiking/swimming with friends. Long, meaningful chats with friends. Going somewhere new.
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
idk how to insert a graph in here. But biggest is friends, nature, and exercise. Also, animals, sleep, yoga, journaling, reading, and learning new things.
@FigureskatingEquestrian
Hi there !
Food poisoning sucks ! I hope you feel better soon, take care <3 I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety. There's a lot going on at the moment isn't there ?
I'm glad to tread that you have things planned with your friends ! I hope you have a good time :)
Swimming in the river sounds great, especially at the moment !! I wish I could do that too :) Happy to hear that your figure skating is going well :)
Hearing the protests and the police must be worrying for you. Itotally understand that it would be a source of anxiety for you. I hope things calm down soon !
That's a lot of things to be grateful for :)
Your dream day sounds pretty good !! :)
You seemd to have talked a lot about your friends in your post today. I'm happy to see that they're a source of positive energy for you :) Nature and animals are also a great source of comfort to us. In the end I guess we all need a bt of nature in our modern over connected world.
Take care <3
@FigureskatingEquestrian
Hey there ! I hope you make a speedy recovery, I hear food poisoning really isnt fun ! It sounds great that you have some nice plans with friends, and that you can feel things returning back to normal even if were not fully there yet. I hope the plans can bring a needed distraction against the anxiety, and that seeing things going back to normal can feel reassuring!
It sounds really cool that you were able to swim in the river plus have a nice time with friends yesterday! I take it that the weather is starting to look like summer? About these off-ice figure skating jumps, I was just thinking about you earlier as an exercise of my workout was 180 jump squats lol not quite gracious though! Its really good that youre able to train a bit and prepare to going back on ice soon! As for the protests, I hope that the situation can get less stressful…
These are so many things to be grateful for! Im glad you know how important they all are to you!
This sounds like an amazing day, I hope you can have one of those days soon!
That looks like a great self-care chart! Its great to see how youre making so many different sources of energy! What's the latest cool/interesting thing you've learned?
Thanks for sharing, take care!
@LinearWaves
cab you share your answers to these? I want to learn about you too!
@LinearWaves
1) How are you doing?
Im okayish my birthdays today but I just found out I'm not having a party so that sucks especially because it's my first birthday away from my family.

I wanted to go eat at a fast food place and go explore the city with my husband and dog and have a cool bday party over the weekend, but we are going to his aunts and then exploring this weekend.
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
Reading, drawing, coloring, funny videos, dog and husband.
@itidc
Hey there :)
Happy birthday !!! I'm sorry to hear that you were expecting a party ... As your first birthday away from family that must be hard for you. Sending you some hugs, if you want them <3
I read this sentence one day (I can't remember where or the exact quote) but it was something along the lines of "you can start your day at anytime". You don't have to get up early and plan a thousand things just to prove that your having a good day. Sometimes your day only starts in the afternoon or the evening and that's totally fine. Taking things at your own pace is fine.
Those are good things to be grateful for :)
I do hope you get to do some of the things that you had planned and you have a good weekend exploring.
That's a nice self care pie :)
Wishing you all the best, hang in there ! Take care <3
@Slizzy564
Thank you so much I think we are actually gonna have a little barbeque to celebrate, I'm happy about that! Thank you so much your words really help! Sending positive vibes your way hun!
@itidc
Happy birthday!! <3 I hope you can spend an amazing day, even if the party doesn
@LinearWaves
Thank you for this check-in today! How are you doing?
1) How are you doing?
I'm doing alright. I am recovering from being sick so I'm taking it a bit slower.
2) What is the high/low of your day?
I'm going to guess since today just started. Today the high will probably be my interview even though I am anxious about it I am excited about it. The low of my day will probably be still not feeling great.
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment?
Three things I'm feeling grateful for at the moment are:
1. Access to medicine
2. 7 Cups
3. My bed
4) What does your ideal day looks like? (where are you, who is with you, what are you doing and so on!)
My ideal day looks like.. I'm at the summer camp I was supposed to work at this summer, with all the kids, at waterfront having an amazing time with them!
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
Sleep, fresh air, walks, running, journaling, music and yoga
@Proud14
Heya! Well thanks for checking in, and for asking! I
@Proud14
Hey :)
I hope you get better soon :)
Good luck with your interview, I hope it goes well !! Maybe it'll help your mood .. ?
Glad to know that 7cups is helpful ! Oooh I'm grateful for my bed too :)
The summer camp you're describing sounds lovely ! I hope you get to work with the kids.
I quite like your pie, sounds peaceful !
Take care <3
@Slizzy564
Hey!
Thank you! I think it will help with my mood!
Haha yes 7 cups is very helpful
Thank you! I'm hoping too!
Haha I'm actually going now to do some self-care in a bit
Take care <3
@LinearWaves
Interesting post, as usual ;) I kinda suck at self care though x)
1) How are you doing? Doing good ! Too hot but hey it's sunny so I'm not going to complain too much ;)
2) What is the high/low of your day? High : I had a good laugh at work. Low : one of my coworkers who I get along with quite well will be on holidays just after me so we won't see each other for a month ... We'll try to catch up outside of work but it won't be easy and they've usually a lot of stuff to do so ...
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment? Sunshine, having a comfortable living, people with a positive energy.
4) What does your ideal day looks like? I don't really have and ideal day to be honest. I like sleeping in a bit in the morning and I'd enjoy having friends and being able to have long talks into the night. Anything else I don't really care about.
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart? Hum this is where you realize that I suck at self care. The only thing that's really consistent is showering. That's something that I'll always make time for. I try to always enjoy my hobbies but most of the time I just haven't got the energy/motivation.
Thanks for the check in !
@Slizzy564
Hey!
I'm glad you're doing good! Sorry it's too hot.
I'm happy to hear you had a good laugh at work! I'm sorry that you won't see one of your co-workers for a month, I hope you're able to catch up!
I'm grateful for sunshine and people with positive energy too! they really lift up my spirits!
That seems like a great and relaxing ideal day!
Self-care can sure be hard especially because of motivation. I struggle with that too, but it's so worth it!
Take care <3
@Slizzy564
Heya Slizzy! Thanks! Well then I hope this post, and mostly everyone
Hello~
1) How are you doing?
I'll say 4.5 out of 10
2) What is the high/low of your day?
The high: I'm able to study a bit and The low: I feel like I haven't studied enough :c
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment?
My friends, my family, and what I'm able to give to and receive from others ^^
4) What does your ideal day looks like? (where are you, who is with you, what are you doing and so on!)
Hmm, I guess an ideal day would be a day where I feel refreshed, relaxed and motivated. It's a day where I can bask myself in self-care, doing things that I love and having some quality time with the people I adore without having to worry about anything...
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
An equal 25% for Friends, Hobbies, Good Sleep, and Good Food :P
@Hydrangea03
Hey there !
I hope the way you feel can improve along the day ! On another note though, Im quite impressed on your accuracy about the way youre feeling, its great that youre able to identify it like that!
Its nice that you were able to study, although Im sorry to hear that you feel it isnt enough… I hope you can do more tomorrow, but other than that, it can be just as good to study bits by bits, as long as youre really focused and really understanding what youre studying! Quality can sometimes be just as good or even better than quantity!
These are really lovely things to feel grateful for!
This really sounds like such a great day! I hope that you can have one (or more actually!) of those sometime soon!
Such an even pie chart! And full of really nice things, thanks for sharing it, and for checking in, take care!
1) How are you doing?
I'm ok. Feeling a bit tired and disappointed. Don't ask me why. Thinking about SH, even though I'm moths clean. It's just an inclination. Its there all the time. I try not to let the fact that its in my head bother me. But it kind of does.
2) What is the high/low of your day?
I think I'm going to go up to a little cabin and bring my books and just sit. I requested a lunch to be saved by the kitchen where I live and it wasn't there when I looked, but it may be there now. Otherwise I have to go and chase food - which is difficult cos I would rather skip but that's not healthy for me.
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment?
Lots of things. I live with great people, I have the ideal job, and a lot of support. There is so much to be thankful for!
4) What does your ideal day looks like? (where are you, who is with you, what are you doing and so on!)
I think I would just get up and ride my bike all day somewhere picturesque with friends and then collapse in a restaurant at the end of the day and drink good beers and eat a hearty dinner.
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
Sleep - it has been really suffering but I have to start working on that; biking / exercise; therapy; spiritual direction; praying (if that's not too religious for this forum... sorry if it is, not trying to start a war. You asked...); taking a scheduled afternoon off from working (that is meant to be today for 3 hours).
@1morday
Hey there ! Im sorry to hear youre feeling tired and disappointed, I hope that can pass… I can definitely relate with how this bothers you, its definitely hard to still have SH in your thoughts despite being clean for months, I find it frustrating… Its an addiction as you say it though, so it needs time but I definitely hope it will fade, even if it may be slowly, so as to disappear from your thoughts.
That sounds like a nice plan! I hope you were able to get some food and then enjoy that relaxing time reading at this cabin, it sounds quite peaceful! Do you do that often?
Im really glad to hear youre aware you have so much to be grateful for! Its so good when we can remember and stay aware of all the things we have!
That sounds like such a cool day! Especially with comfort and nice time with friends after exercise!
This sounds like a great self-care pie chart! (dont worry, were not here for wars, praying is totally okay and its also totally okay to mention it!) I hope you can work well on sleep and do plenty of all these cool self-care activities, I really like how diverse they all are!
Thanks for sharing and for checking in, take care!
1) How are you doing?
Quite okay - was one of the better days.
2) What is the high/low of your day?
Low - still having pain in many parts of my body.
High - feeling more selfconfident at the moment.
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment?
my amazing girlfriend, having holidays at work next week , having all my physician appointments organised
4) What does your ideal day looks like? (where are you, who is with you, what are you doing and so on!)
I'm with my girlfriend ❤️ Lots of time . We are in a new flat where we live together and just spend our day together lying outside in our garden cuddling, having good books and netflix with us and afterwards we will make music together.
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
Sleep, feeding my body with things that are good for me, friends, my girlfriend, singing ,dancing
@BrokenDreamsPalace
Hey there ! How nice it is to hear youre quite okay and that its one of the better days! Im sorry though that youre still experiencing pain, I hope that can get better soon.
Its nice that youre feeling more self-confident, do you feel there are some things you could do so as to have that last?
These are amazing thing to feel grateful for, and such a nice ideal day! I hope that with your holidays coming you will be able to have days like this and with plenty of these self care activities!
Thanks for sharing, take care!
@LinearWaves
1) How are you doing?
I'm not doing great.
2) What is the high/low of your day?
The high of my day was being with my sisters and laughing together. The low of my day was I have a really bad headache so I didn't do a lot of things but sleep so I just feel really unproductive since I have work I need to do for school.
3) What are three things youre feeling grateful for at the moment?
Three things I'm grateful for is my family, my baby sister, music, and cups. oops was that 4?
4) What does your ideal day looks like? (where are you, who is with you, what are you doing and so on!)
My ideal day looks like being with my family and spending time with my baby sister and just watching her be a baby and explore everything. If you already couldn't tell I love my baby sister so much haha.
5) What is in your personal self-care pie chart?
Oh nose my personal self-care chart would be very small but it would look like sleeping, listening to music, reading, and taking a warm shower.
@Sydney113
Hey Sydney, Im really sorry to hear youre not feeling great… Its nice to hear though that you were able to have a nice time with your sisters, although Im sorry that this headache has been causing you to feel unproductive. You did the best you could though, with getting some rest, and I hope you can catch up sometime soon when you feel better and rested!
That was 4 indeed, but hey you know what they say: the more the merrier :p Im really glad that you have all these things to feel grateful for around you!
This is really cute how much you love your baby sister! It really sounds like a great day!
Thats a very nice self-care pie chart! Sometimes we dont need much as long as it works on us and enables us to take good care of ourselves!
Thanks for sharing, I hope tomorrow goes better productivity-wise (although its very okay to take it slow too you know?) take care!
