73 days
73 days self harm free but I don't think I'll make it past 100. My mom said I can get highlights if I make it til February 5th not self harming, so I'm gonna make it to then. But its just been so bad recently. I just cant do this.
@treefrog1234
I am proud of you for making it 73 days self-harm free. I know that has not been easy and life has been testing you every single day. You are strong and you are clearly a fighter.
Highlights sound like a cool motivator and I am glad you are at least going to push to stay self-harm clean until February 5th.
I am sorry to hear that things have been so bad recently. I can understand that it is hard to stay clean when things feel so heavy.
It sounds like your mother has been supportive and cares based on that she is giving you external stuff to encourage you to stay clean. I know sometimes that is not enough.
Do you want to vent more about what has been going on recently?
@Remina Not a ton is going on. I'm just overwhelmed with life
@treefrog1234
Life can be overwhelming sometimes. Do you talk about it with the people around you, like your mother? I am sorry you're so overwhelmed.
@Remina My mother and I are currently in a fight so we really haven't talked much recently. But yeah I've talked to her about it before, she just tells me I need to work a lot and get a lot of scholarships
@treefrog1234
I am sorry to hear that you and your mother are currently in a fight. It sounds like it is serious if you two are not really talking. Gah, being told to "work a lot" and "get a lot of scholarships" is definitely not what you need to hear when you are already overwhelmed. From what I read in your other thread, you have been submitting a lot of scholarship applications and trying your best to get approved for a scholarship. You are doing a good job, some students don't even start applying for scholarships until their senior year of high school. Yes, you might not be getting some of them, but please do not let that discourage you. What are some healthy ways to release when things are too much to try to stay clean for as long as possible?
@Remina Thanks. And I do puzzles and listen to music and that sometimes helps
@treefrog1234
I am glad that you have something that helps at times. Puzzles can be really great because they not only distract but use that critical thinking part of your brain. What are your favorite puzzles?
Music is such a great way to deal with things. What type of music do you typically listen to? Are you more of a I need to listen to Sad Music because I am Sad or I need upbeat music because I am sad?
