Slight TW

I've been clean for almost half a year now but i still feel the need to sh, ik that twitter(or x as its now called) has a certain community that doesnt necessarily promote sh but does welcome it and I have been on it for a while now just bc i need to see it to make me feel better instead of actually harming myself. It does sometimes trigger me into wanting to sh but I have never relapsed since i started my journey and dont really see the need to go through recovery again if i have already made it this far. I just want to know if there are better ways to cope with this needing feeling instead of just watching others online. Mainly bc ik its not good for me mentally and i want to try and reduce this feeling of needing to do/see sh. Any advice?

@Livy001 First, I really want to say how incredibly proud I am for that half year. That isn't just a number but a testament to how much you’ve fought for your own peace. I hear you when you say that looking at those communities feels like a release valve, but I think your soul is getting tired of being triggered. Like you’re keeping a fire nearby just to feel the heat, but it’s starting to singe you.

Maybe we can try to replace that so called 'viewing' with something that honors your senses without hurting them? When that 'needing' feeling hits, try holding an ice cube until it melts, or using a red felt tip pen to draw on your skin exactly where you feel the urge. It’s a way of acknowledging the pain without breaking the skin.

You’ve made it so far. Don’t let a screen take away the progress your heart has worked so hard for. I’m right here, and I see the strength in you even when you feel fragile
