Alternatives
Hey everyone!
I'm curious to hear your opinions on this.
Recently I realized that I've been self harming less. I looked at what was keeping me back from cutting, because its not like I've been feeling any better. I picked up that when I would feel the way I feel when I usually cut, I would turn to the internet, and lose myself in pointless stuff. I've been spending most of my day online, and I don't like it.
On the other hand, being on my screens all day is what is keeping me back from cutting.
Any of you have any thoughts? Is it a healthy alternative, or is it just harmful in a different way?
And on another note, do any of you have suggestions for things to distract, so I don't wallow in those thoughts, and don't get stuck in the struggle of "cut- no don't- I have to- don't do it" that whole cycle?
Thank you for being here, for making me feel supported and not alone!💕

I'm sorry you've been hurting 💚
Going online too much leaves us feeling stuck, comparing ourselves to others, doom scrolling and going down rabbit holes.
It's fine in moderation.
But I'd encourage you to find a healthier passion, be that music, exercise, drawing, art, dance, anything that makes you feel alive, and allows you to release stress in a beneficial way 💚🤗

Thank you for your response.
I like what you said about finding another activity.
hugs back!

it really depends what you cut for, I was given a really good list of alternatives based on reason, I can get the link for that and put it here in a second
