Anyone else feel the same?
I was self harm clean for 6 years between the ages of 15 and 21 but I relapsed about 2 months ago. I’ve been clean for about 2 weeks but I cannot get over the feeling of guilt that I broke a promise to myself

Welcome to seven cups 🥰💜 Thank you for opening up and being vulnerable, you are so inspiring that you have struggled with something so difficult and you've overcome it, it is natural to have setbacks and guilt is one of the emotions that comes along with it but you cannot let one or ten relapses define you, it doesn't take away all of your progress or healing. You need to sit and ask yourself , did anything specific trigger this, process that, give yourself time and start again 💜 I'm rooting for you 🥰💕
Thank you I appreciate it
@SharkLover21
You are genuinely welcome 🥰
@SharkLover21 Congratulations on the six years! I know it's hard when we relapse and it often feels like we've undone all the hard work we put into staying clean. The guilt can be so heavy! Relapses are part of being human though and now you're two weeks clean! That's a big deal too. Every day you go without sh is a good day. Try not to beat yourself up. (I know it's hard though) You went six years without sh-ing you can do it again!
Thank you so much
@SharkLover21 You're welcome! Be gentle with yourself! Try to remember you can always reach out to someone here! 💜
I got a semi-colon tattoo when I was 15 as I promise to myself. To never try to commit suicide or self harm again. Imagine how silly I felt with a big ugly line through it a year later. I'm almost 3 years clean now. I think the sheer embarrassment of having a caution sign right where the glass goes has helped me the most lol.
Its a tough battle. You're gonna slip up sometimes but you have to forgive yourself and use it as a reminder. The good doesnt last forever. If you're anything like me the regret starts to set in almost immediately after it's over. Use this as a reminder of how terrible it is. But also as a reminder that you can do it. You held on for 6 years you can do it again. And this time you'll pass your streak :)
