This post is directed at anyone who has a decent clean streak. I'm one day clean, and I'm wondering what you guys did to stop. When I look up self harm alternatives it's pretty generic stuff. I want to hear from real people who struggled what works. I'm committed to stopping. Thanks!

Hey there! I've been there, and here are a few ways I deal with the urges whenever they come up:

1. Scribbling
I take a piece of paper and scribble until the urge starts to fade. This works best for me because it doesn't require me to think, be creative, or make anything perfect. Later, I can color the patterns or shapes I created in the moment. It fits the idea of "drawing stars around your scars."

2. Fast-Paced Walking
I go for a brisk walk while listening to rock music or motivational songs. It helps me release and channel that intense energy.

3. Journaling
I've written up to 10 pages when experiencing these urges. Write until you've gotten everything out of your head. It can be difficult at first, but it gets easier with practice.

4. Turning Your Emotions into Art
Someone once suggested this to me, and now I often use AI to turn my thoughts into songs. Sometimes I even create a tune for them. It helps me see my emotions from a different perspective and process them in a healthier way.

Hope this helps! :)💛

I wish you healing.
