How do I ask for help

I want to ask for help but I don't know how to talk about it. I don't know who the right person to talk to is and I don't know how to open up about what's been happening. I don't want to hurt anyone I love by showing them this part of me but It feels out of my control and I'm only going to hurt them more by continuing.

I want to get better, now more than ever but I'm emotionally overwhelmed and I feel stuck.

@oliveCoconut5443 Hello, I am glad you are here and that you are reaching out for support on this platform. I am so sorry that you are feeling stuck and finding it hard to know how to ask for help. Although, I don't have the answers, I want you to know that I admire your courage for reaching out for help in this forum. Also, I wonder if there is not really a "wrong" way to start the conversation or ask for help, but that almost any way of starting the conversation may actually be the "right" way to ask for help. Just like your post today--you expressed what was going on for you as best as you could, and it led me to reply to you. I wonder if taking a similar approach to those close to you might be worth considering. Even if you don't feel like you are expressing yourself in the best way possible, I would hope that those close to you would just be relieved that you are coming to them for support and help. Also, I am wondering if you might consider reaching out to a therapist. Sometimes, what we are going through warrants us seeking help from a mental health professional--I hope you will consider if that option is right for you. I am sorry I don't have the answers, but again, I am very glad you reached out today and I am wishing you all the best. Take care.
