I'm 13 and I've been struggling with self harm for about two years. I was clean for amost 4 months, so I thought I would be fine, but last week I relapsed after a fight with my brother. so I want a therapist. I havent told my mom abt the sh, so when talked to her about therapy, she said I didn't need it. I feel so helpless. does anybody have any advice? I want them to know but I'm not sure if I have the energy to have that conversation..

Hey first, I want to say I’m really proud of you for speaking up, even just here. That takes so much courage, especially when you're carrying this much alone. Four months clean is a big deal. Please don’t let one relapse erase all the strength and progress you’ve made it doesn’t mean you failed. It just means you’re human, and you’re hurting. That’s okay. You’re not weak or dramatic for wanting help. You deserve support, no matter what anyone else says. Wanting to talk to a therapist is not overreacting it’s brave. And needing help doesn’t mean something is wrong with you it means you’ve been strong for too long on your own. I know it’s hard to imagine talking to your mom about the self-harm especially when you're already feeling low but maybe, when you’re ready, you can write it down in a letter or a text if speaking feels too hard. Sometimes, people don’t realize how serious something is until we show them what’s really going on inside. You don’t have to tell her everything all at once, just enough to help her understand you’re not just “sad,” you’re struggling and it matters. You are not alone in this. So many others have been where you are scared, tired, and unsure how to ask for what they need and they’ve made it through. You can too. And in the meantime, if you don’t feel safe or supported at home, maybe a trusted adult , a teacher, school counselor, relative could help be your voice to your mom?

You’re worth the fight it takes to feel better. You’re not a burden. You’re not invisible. You matter. And I promise, you don’t have to do this by your self. 💛

this is really helpful, thank you. I've kind of talked to my friends about it, but they struggle too so I don't want to trigger or add onto their pain. I also don't want my mom to feel guilty for not realizing because she's already stressed as is. thank you for reading all that too, it's really nice to hear the things at the end. I'm not a confrontational person at all and I kinda hate talking so writing it down might help, thanks again
