Hi everyone. My name is Kait, but you can all just call me Snaily. I’m new here and wanted to introduce myself. I am 24 years old and I am obsessed with my pets. So far I am one day clean when it comes to my recovery from self harm. I had a relapse yesterday after about being a month self harm free. I’m here because I want to choose better coping mechanisms in the future and because I want to be surrounded by supportive likeminded people. Thanks for having me here! I hope some of us can become friends!

Hello Snaily!

I am also obsessed with my pets! I have three dogs! What kind of pets do you have? :) Also, I am very happy to hear that you are one day clean from self-harm. Despite your relapse, you were able to pick yourself back up and that's wonderful<3 I look forward to seeing you around. 💛💫

Hi there!

I have a dog named Scout. He is a liver Brittany. I also have two kitties named Nerdy and Freya. Nerdy is 11 and Freya is 1. I also have 6 fish tanks! My biggest tank has Ranchu goldfish and I love them. My other tanks are dedicated to snail and platy breeding. I also have two bettas in a divided tank.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I feel like I’m back to square one and that I have made zero progress. I hope I can change this though!

Thank you again for welcoming me so kindly.

Hi snaily! 🐌

I adore pets too! I'm very jealous of your fish tanks, having 6 would be so fun!! I have one big one, its filled with lots of different fish. I have a cat too (cats are my favourite animal)

I'm also in the same situation as you really. The best thing we can do is try, even if things don't go as we would like, or it goes back to day one... That's not necessarily losing progress, because we're still trying our best, and it takes time to learn new coping skills and replace them with the old ones. Slow small steps are good. Each day is worth something 💖

Welcome Saddest Snail or Snaily. I'm glad to have you a part of this wonderful community. It takes time and effort to be able to heal and stop the cycle of self-harming. I'm so proud of you for going a month without self-harm. I know it must have been difficult to do. But that's a big accomplishment you should be proud of yourself for. I'm glad that you want to find better and healthy coping mechanisms and I support you in that. I agree being with likeminded people right now and in the future can help you so much. The ways I try to cope is distract myself by doing something that won't make me think of self-harm. Or if you want to see the physical thing but not actually hurting yourself or like experience something like it you can use an ice cube. Of course, I wouldn't suggest it but some people do find that helpful as a release. I hope some of us can become friends too even if it isn't me:)
