Struggling with feeling the urge
I've never self harmed before (unless you count scratching and picking at my skin and letting pets scratch my skin) and I keep wanting to. I just want to do it once. Logically, I know I shouldn't. I know it won't help, it'll only cause more problems, and I'll feel ashamed later. But I can't stop wanting to. Like I want some physical representation of everything I'm struggling with. I keep telling myself that i'll only do it once and then i'll stop but I know i probably won't be able to. I need a reason not to sh, but I find it hard to care about anything right now, let alone reasons not to sh.
@RedMouse
Thanks for sharing with us about the urges you are feeling and that are going through your mind. I know like you might be having an inner battle there with your mind. I can imagine it would be hard you listening to the urges and not doing anything about them. I hope that you find a reason to not give into the urges but could imagine it would be really hard. I guess your thoughts about what it might feel like during and after come to mind. Perhaps you'd be interested in talking about what you are struggling with.

@MonicaQu Thank you 💜 I've still got the urge, and I haven't found a reason not to cut (or a reason that I actually care about, I guess?) But I haven't yet, and I'm working on distracting myself, so maybe that'll help put me in a different frame of mind
@RedMouse. Red mouse I understand the need for a physical representation. I have often felt that if my mental wounds were to be physical I'd be a bloody mess. But you are are right when you say it won't help. And it will only make more problems. Can you substitute something like. I don't know .Draw or hot a pillow or something. O wish you best with your struggle.
@selfconfidentMelon5824 Thank you 💜 I'm just trying to distract myself right now by playing video games. I drew on my arms as a substitute, which kind of both helped and didn't help, if that makes sense? Like I've still got the urge and drawing on my arms isn't good enough to make it stop, but it did help distract me, and the rose I drew on my arm looks really pretty so that made me feel a bit happier
