Who here self harms
I do. I cut because it substitutes the pain in my life for a lesser pain in my arm, it distracts me from my real problems even if it's for a little bit. That's what makes cutting so addicting, because it only solves my problems for a little bit, so then I do it again to get that feeling. I don't know about others but that's my reason. I know it's unhealthy and I'm trying to stop but I still need to tell someone what's going on.
@DKT26 thats must be hard for you. Can you tell me more about it?
@DKT26 i have the same problem in that it's addicting and it's hard to stop doing it. There's a lot of things you can do instead when you have that urge i'm sure you can even just look up online. They sound weird but for me an ice cube on the wrist works because you still feel like pain but without doing any damage.
@Emku4795
i have the same problem, that it is addicting. i never thought of ice cubes, that may help a lot and maybe be a step to help me stop
@DKT26 It is definitely addictive. You and I share that it is a form of distraction and control.
i used 2 do it so that instead of lashing out at others, i lash out on myself.
so far i have stopped...that only happened b\c last time i did it was rite b4 my parents kicked me out & they were about the only reason cut...
so, as of 2day, im 5.5 months clean from cutting
Used to bite myself constantly when I was a kid, I always had bruises on my arms. Switched to punching myself all the time when I got braces. I started cutting when I was 13. I've slowed down on all my self harm but in the past month I've temporarily deafened myself after hitting my head so much one night. And I haven't cut since December which is good. Getting better, slowly.
I do...
I self harm occasionally n I keep telling myself that it'll be my last time but it's not. My brother saw my arm n now he'll mock me for it all the time...
I used to cut. I am 1 1/2 weeks clean, and I consider this a major improvement. I would cut to have control, to feel the pain, I was entranced by the blood. When I cut I felt like I had control, like I could stop at any moment, though I knew I couldn't. The pain was a great distraction, and also a release. I felt like I was letting go of everything I felt. The sight of the blood enchanted me, made me want to bleed more. Overall, it was an addiction, until one of my idiotic, precious friends cut themself to make me stop. I haven't cut since, I can't bear to see my amazing, sweet friends hurt themselves because of me.
used to, almost 2 months clean now
Cutting Is Like Being High, For That Little Bit Of Time You Feel Fine But After You Are Reminded What You Are Going Trough, Personaly I am a cutter, I've experienced the feeling and I've relapsed many times, Not Proud Of It But It Happens To The Best Of Us, I guess what I'm saying is the reason that most of us have turned to Cutting Is That Feeling Of Being Fine, For The Moment, But Please Try To Stop It Has Ruined My Self Image, You May Say Your Trying To Keep It Hidden But You Will Move And People Will See And Treat You Diffrently For It, So, Thanks For Reading, if you want to hear more of my story or have any questions feel free to Dm me
Cutting used to give me relief. no matter how deep i cut, i don't feel anything. i don't know what to do.
