Why is my hand tingling? TW
I relapsed a week ago. I did it again yesterday and after I did it my hand started tingling. Is this common? I'm a little bit scared, because I don't do it because i'm suicidal but for coping with some personal issues and because it makes me feel something other than numb.

sometimes you can cut nerves and that results in a tingling sensation or numbness in the body part close to where you cut nerve damage can happen with any bad cut

it all depends on where you cut in some areas of the arms the nurves are very close to the surface and in other places they are deeper nerves are not located at the same depth throught the entire length of the arm as this shows > https://bit.ly/2mbe0MA
the same is true with arteries of course in some locations they are very close to the surface other places farther in
I've had tingling/numbness happen when I've cut my arms before, but I only ever do shallow cuts so I don't know what would cause it.

Same. I dont think it's my nerve system tbh, because my cuts aren't that deep. Maybe my brain is making the tingling worse than it actually is because i'm scared of it or something. The tingling in my hand isn't very long either, normally it lasts for about 2 to 5 minutes, and it doesn't happen every time i cut.

nerve damage can be repaired although you might need physical therapy or surgery only a doctor would know whats wrong and what needs done to fix it and sometimes with nerve damage time is important to make sure the nerve heals correctly or if surgery is needed so that it can begin to heal so i hope you go to a doctor soon you can give another explanation for the injury other than self harm if you dont want to admit thats how it happened but you might have injury to muscle also if it was a deeper cut so the sooner you get to a doctor the better
message me anytime if you want to talk im here every day im sure its very scary having a tingling feeling after an injury but it is something that can be fixed and i understand going to a doctor about it is scary also but sometimes seeing a doctor is necessary nerve damage could get better or it can also get worse without medical attention <3

Hi there!
What you may be experiencing is your hand, well, shaking. If it's been a bit since you last self-injured, then that usually happens. However, like other comments, if you ended up injuring yourself badly, then there is a possibility of nerve damage.
