My story

hi guys :)

so ive been struggling with self harm for around 6 years now. its started quite early on in my childhood and it just seems to give me a sense of control and release in the midst of all the chaos i call a life. i constantly get the urges to do it again, but since the beginning of 2019, ive been doing well with just keeping myself safe.

in the last 2 weeks or so, i found a way to make me stop thinking about the bad times when i look at my scars. ive begin to draw on my scars. since most of my scars are healed, i started drawing flowers on them. flowers bring me a certain kind of joy and appreciation for the world around us and for God. i feel like this has helped with my depression and anxiety a little bit, just knowing that when people see my scars, they see something a little bit more beautiful.

@jodiex

Hey, Jodie! I'm so happy to hear that you've been keeping yourself safe! How is it going? I realise it's been a while since you've posted, and I apologise for my late reply to your post!

How's your drawing going? I love your mentality behind drawing flowers! :) Drawing can be a great coping mechanism for urges, and a great distraction too. Do you use colour ink as well and colour them in, or do you do outlines of the flowers? As I said earlier, I love your way of coping! I hope you keep doing it, or evolving the coping mechanism to what helps you as time goes on. ❤
