A Self-Portrait in Words—Who Are You?
Hey lovely people, this week as a prompt were going to do something called Chinese self-portrait (or at least thats how it translates from French to English!)
So basically, the point of this exercise/poem is to describe yourself by using comparisons to images/objects/situations and explain shortly why this image describes you. For example:
If I was a weather, Id be a semi-clear night sky because there are a lot of things out there I want to explore/learn/discover with the stars but also some worries, uncertainties, struggles and obstacles with the clouds.
If I was a colour, Id be somewhere in between blue and green, because the nature means a lot to me and I spend lots of time dreaming and looking at the sky.
(or something like that, but really feel free to do it just like you want to!)
And it goes on and on for as long as you want!

Heyyy! I haven't seen you around in this part of the site for so long! I would be 46 or 48, I've loved those numbers since I was a kid. I think it was the number of books mh mum bought for me at a library fair. As many books as you can get in one bag for $2 so what a bargain 😂

Hi how are you all? It's been a few weeks since I've been here, so I'm going to answer to this interesting question haha.
If I have to describe myself in one thing it'll be the kind of summer that we have over here (I'm from Argentina) because it's extremely hot and sunny in December and January and that's how I show myself with the people around like warm and a funny girl. In February is still hot but it's the month of the year where it's always cloudy and rainy and that describe a bit my emotional changes and how I see myself: I can be really funny around my friends and family but when I'm alone everything is sadness and distress.

If I was a book, I would be a unfinished story. The story wouldn't be too interesting but it would be insightful. As of the way it looks now, the book is a tragedy.

if i was a sport, i would be swimming because i tend to go with the flow and see where the waves take me and that fighting the waves or whatever life brings my way, tends to make things more difficult than they need to be

That's a really wise comparison! It's really true that fighting the waves/flow is always much harder than needed, most of the time for not-so-great results... Whereas if you use the waves wisely, they can make you go far in life!

If I was a season, I'd be autumn. I'd be the opposition of the bright warm colours of the tree leaves and the cool weather and the winter coming. I'd be the relief of the end of summer, and the dread of the colder, harsher days to come. I'd be the celebration of the happy days and the uncertainty of what is yet to come. I'd be the end of the upbeat melodies, the beginning of a soulful serenade. A solo violin and a voice whispering to the wind. I'd be the comfort in covering one's body once again. I'd be the unfair slipping away of daylight and the start of the reign of the night. I'd be the way the world seems to slow down and finally take the time to breathe. I'd be the breeze that glides over your skin to pull you back together. I'd be the bravery in saying goodbye to the past and moving on, even if harder times are ahead. I'd be the hand that intertiwins with yours to warm you up. I'd be the soft warm kind of love, you don't see it at first sight but it'll stay with you throughout it all.

Well you definitely should get carried away whenever you feel like it, that was really beautiful! There's something really poetic and full of so many meanings about Autumn and you really managed to depict it in words!
I'd personally add the silent vow of flowerbuds/hope to appear again once it's all over :p

I write on and off, I only really have a way with words when it comes this kind of stuff, imagery and feelings and all that ... I have a journal in which I write stuff down and collect quotes, songs etc.

If I was a piece of art, I'd be subtle and not easily noticeable, but once you've seen me you can't miss me. There wold be a lot if flowing brushstrokes and it would be done in soft, washed-out watercolours, with deep rich blues and purples trailing all over the page, like a night sky. There'd be something slightly mysterious, and something sort of puzzling about me, that makes you want to know more.
(honestly I just did a bunch of fancy painting descriptions haha)

If I were a flower, I'd be a lavender coloured rose, because they are beautiful, and I love that colour very much. Even their stems and leaves are the perfect shade of green that compliments them.
If I were an element, I'd be the air or the wind, because I've always wanted to fly more than anything.
