Icebreaker!!
If you would be given a chance to time travel, what would you pick: The past or the future?? Also, mention the reason why?!
@Starlasky
Hope I don't come across as too dark/negative here, just answering based on my perception of life, however skewed it might be
It has to be back to the past, back to before industrialisation.
For all the benifits that it has brought, I somehow can't help but feel that the only benifit we really needed from this century, is the advances in healthcare. Having seen the world change before my eyes from analog to digital, to me, the advances in technology has robbed us of as much, if not more than, what it actually enriched us with.
The reason I feel this way, comes from a place of sorrow over the loss of so many trades, talents and crafts that kept humanity productively stimulated and engaged that gave us meaning and purpose.
So as to avoid a negatively charged philosopical discussion, suffice it to say that my feeling is just that it's not so much that "machines and AI will take over the world one day", but rather that we are making ourselves, and the very act of living, obsolete.
